the first flight of Tjafi and Roskva

 

After being forced into the service of Thor, due to Loki's trickery, Roskva and Tjafi get to ride with thor in his cart. They must have been marveling as the world beneath them shrank away and they got to the skies.

The sewing up of Loki's lips is a turning point in Nordic myth. It is wat made Loki eventually turn against his bloodsbrother.

the mara is an evil (mostly female) spirit that visits her victims at night. She sits upon them and extracts their life forced. Hence the word nightmare, "nachtmerrie". A person being plagued by such a mara was said to be marerit or ridden by the mare.
